With the season less than two weeks old, it’s time to rank the teams in the Metropolitan Division. The news isn’t great for the New York Ranger.

The last three Stanley Cup Champions all came from the Metropolitan Division, but so far this season, the teams in the division are not setting the league on fire.  Five of the ten worst teams in possession stats are from the Metro.

Only a handful of NHL teams have gotten off to great starts this young season. Predictably, Toronto, Anaheim, Nashville, and Boston are among those teams leading the pack.

Any surprises?  There are a couple including the Chicago BlackHawks and one Metropolitan Division team, the Carolina Hurricanes who reside at the top of our Metropolitan Division power rankings.
