The New York Rangers are beginning to show their true colors. The team who showed extreme promise with a top-notch offense has now begun to falter significantly.

The New York Rangers have come into December on a low note. The team is 4-5-1 in their last ten and 2-4-1 in their last seven. Currently, they sit in fourth place in the Metropolitan division.
This was the team I expected to see all year. A team who managed to have flashes in the pan, but recorded more losses than wins. There is enough talent to not be the worst team in the league, however, there isn’t enough to seriously compete.
Honestly? I’m sort of happy that the Rangers have started to come down from their high. This also helps nudge the front office in the direction that yes, the team is still rebuilding. With Henrik Lundqvist still on the team, I wondered if the win streak would tempt management to buy at the deadline.
Hopefully, this decline in play will show management that the rebuild is 100% needed at this point. There will be no disillusions about making a serious push towards a postseason birth. After seeing so many blown leads and inept defensive plays, it’s safe to say the Rangers have a long way to go.
