Up: Mika Zibanejad

Mika Zibanejad was one of the most offensively active players on the New York Rangers this week. He was absolutely on fire, with eight points in four games (averaging two points per game). He was even named the NHL second star of the week.

Against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Zibanejad had one point, an assist. In the win against the Carolina Hurricanes, he had a whopping four points, made up of two goals and two assists.

When facing off with the Chicago Blackhawks, he picked up one point, which was a goal. Finally, during the matchup against the Boston Bruins, he had two points, both goals.

This huge stretch for Zibanejad put him in first place for assists on the team with 27, second in goals with 22, and first in points with 44.

With just three more points, he will match his point total from last year, which took him 24 more games to do. He only needs three more assists to match his career high in that category as well.

Ten more goals get him to match his career high in that section, and seven more points in any way, shape, or form will get him to match his career high there. The sky is the limit for Mika Zibanejad right now.

He has about half of the season left to reach all of these incredible milestones, and they all seem possible. Every single night, fans of the New York Rangers should be thanking this organization for trading for Zibanejad.

He has truly blossomed into one of the team’s best all-around players. Plus, at 25 years old, he’s just hitting his prime; this is only the beginning.
