My three stars of the game

  1. Pavel Buchnevich continues to play at the highest level of his pro career.  He is shooting more and it is paying off.   A restricted free agent after this season, he is making the Rangers seriously consider a longterm deal.
  2. Brady Skjei didn’t just score a goal in this game, he led the team with 26 minutes of ice time, had three shots on goal, two hits and he blocked five shots.  Like Buchnevich, he is playing at a higher level than he has all season, probably since his rookie season.
  3. Alexandar Georgiev stopped 29 shots for his second shutout of the season.  Georgiev is fourth in wins among rookies (13),  eighth in save percentage (.912) and ninth in GAA (2.95). Only Jordan Binnington of St. Louis has more shutouts.   He does lead all rookies in assists with two.

Next. Time for Brady Skjei to become elite. dark
