New York Rangers started showing up on the scoreboard on days two and three of the IIHF World Championships.

There was encouraging news for New York Rangers fans as Blueshirts started to make the highlight reels.  The competition wasn’t exactly top tier for the United States, Sweden or the Czech Republic as all three teams won their games easily.

There are six New York Rangers playing at the World Championships in Slovakia.  While no individual effort by any of them eclipsed the stellar showing of Kaapo Kakko, they all contributed.

Sweden 8-0 vs. Italy

Italy was soundly defeated by Team Sweden 8-0.  Henrik Lundqvist was in net for the Swedes and he had an easy time of it needing to make only 12 saves.  There were some opportunities to see vintage Lundqvist.

Italy has lost both of their games by a combined score of 17-0.  Needless to say, they are not expected to make it to the playoff round.
