The New York Rangers are not looking to compete  for the Stanley Cup just yet. That being said, they still need to fill out their roster with talented players. Here are a few low-risk free agents that the Rangers could pounce on when the window opens.

The New York Rangers are certainly still a rebuilding team. The team will only be competitive if the young talent joining the team steps to the plate and the NHL veterans pick up the slack from year’s past. All things considered, the Rangers don’t need much to fill out their roster.

The Rangers’ top-six is pretty well set at this point. Returning players include a group of veterans and young players that includes Mika Zibanejad, Chris Kreider, Filip Chytil, Jimmy Vesey, and Brett Howden. Those returning skaters are bolstered by the incoming youth from overseas and the draft.

The Rangers’ bottom six is pretty full, featuring Jesper Fast, Vladislav Namestnikov, Ryan Strome, and Lias Andersson. However, there are always low-risk free agent forwards out there to pursue.
