It’s the quiet time for the NHL, but the New York Rangers top farm team has been making some news this summer.
The Wolf Pack announced their newest signing, forward Greg Chase. While Chase will probably not see any time with the New York Rangers, his arrival bolsters the team’s minor league system.
Wolf Pack General Manager Chris Drury has been focusing on Hartford and in the last week he announced the hiring of Kris Knoblauch as head coach and Gord Murphy as associate head coach.
Greg Chase is a 24 year old left wing from Edmonton, Alberta. He has split his time the last four seasons between the AHL and the ECHL. He was drafted by Edmonton in the seventh round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He turned pro in 2015-16 and looks to have a career as a minor league player.

In 2018-19 Chase played for the Maine Mariners, the Rangers’ ECHL farm team, leading the team with 21 goals and 42 points in 41 games. He also was scoreless in five games for the Wolf Pack. He has roots in Hartford as he is the nephew of former NHL tough guy, Kelly Chase, who played three seasons for the Hartford Whalers.
Chase joins Greg McKegg and Danny O’Regan as players signed this summer to play mostly in Hartford this season.
Schedule released
With some highly regarded Rangers prospects expected to play in Hartford at least when the season starts, here is the 2019-20 Wolf Pack schedule. If you want to catch Igor Shesterkin as he gets used to North American ice, there are many opportunities. Home games are listed in caps.
