For the first time in years, the New York Rangers prospect pool has been rated best in the NHL in two influential rankings.

An already spectacular offseason for the New York Rangers just got even better as their prospect pool was ranked first in the league by the NHL Network and EliteProspects.com. This is a huge accomplishment for a management group that has been as retooled as the team itself, adding new team President, John Davidson just before the entry draft.

Dial back to February 8th, 2018 when Rangers President Glen Sather and General Manager Jeff Gorton released a letter to the fans stating that the team was going to start the process of reshaping the team to get younger. As a New York Ranger fan, this news meant many beloved players would soon be moved for prospects, picks and/or young NHL ready players that have high potential in creating a young, fast and skilled New York Rangers team. Little did fans know that in less than two years the Rangers would put together one of the fastest rebuild in NHL history.

With the help of a few drafts prior to this 2019 draft and the combination of skilled prospects we have received in the last 2 years due to the trading of beloved fan favorites, the New York Rangers prospect pool is at the  top of the league.

Even more impressive is the fact that the Rangers top ranking does not include players who have graduated from the prospect pool like Filip Chytil, Lias Andersson and Brett Howden .  The current top ranked pool of prospects is made up of draft picks from the last few years and the skilled prospects the team accumulated in the last two years due to the trading of some beloved fan favorites.
