Notes on the game

Although Kakko missed his second game, he did participate in a limited skate and hopes to get into at least one game in the tournament.

The Rangers added a player to their roster for this tournament and he played in his first game Saturday.   Sudbury Wolves forward MacAuley Carson was a late invitee and is wearing uniform number 91.  Carson was not drafted in 2017 and played last season for Sudbury in the OHL.  He is 6’2″ and dropped about 20 pounds this summer in an effort to get faster. In his best season in the OHL he scored 30 goals and 50 points in 68 games.  That was his draft year and he was ranked the 105th best pospect by hockeyprospect.com.  That he went undrafted was seen as a surprise.  At any rate, after a 17 goal, 46 point season in Sudbury, the 20 year old was given a chance by the Rangers.

Vitali Kravtsov is showing a fun side. The Rangers tweeted about Adam Fox.

Kravtsov tweeted right after that:

Here were the lines and defense pairings from the game:

Line 1: Vitali Kravtsov-Karl Henriksson-Lewis Zerter-Gossage
Line 2: Nick Jones-Ryan Dmowski-Jake Elmer
Line 3: Brett Kemp-Patrick Newell-Keith Getson
Line 4: Shawn McBride-MacAuley Carson-Anthony Salinitri

Defense 1: Adam Fox-Matthew Robertson
Defense 2: Joey Keane-Yegor Ryokov
Defense 3: Kade Landry-Nico Gross
