There were a litany of storylines to digest in the wake of the New York Rangers’ Overtime win over the Minnesota Wild at Madison Square Garden on Monday.

Still basking in the glory of their unbelievable comeback success over the Montreal Canadiens at the weekend, the New York Rangers were looking to go on a run and start a busy Thanksgiving week off on a high.

And the Blueshirts delivered a big performance to claim their second successive victory, with Tony DeAngelo emerging as the hero in overtime.

It all started in the first period when, and despite being dominated for large parts, the Rangers got on the board first thanks to Brady Skjei‘s quick wrist shot that beat Wild goalie Alex Stalock.

However, Minnesota flipped the script and two unanswered goals from Zach Parise, who loves playing against the Rangers, and former Boston Bruins forward Ryan Donato put the Wild firmly in the driving seat.

Chris Kreider was having a strong outing, though, and he took the game to overtime after being in the right place at the right time to knock home a rebound.

And the excitement of overtime had hardly settled in when DeAngelo took the game on his stick and wristed a laser past Stalock to win the game for the Rangers.

It was a significant victory for the Blueshirts who, for the second game in a row, found a way to hang on in there, claw their way back and win the game.

Let’s go through some takeaways from the New York Rangers’ 3-2 success over the Minnesota Wild…
