1. Zuc’s emotional return

What a moment.

And it is one we’ve all been looking forward to since the schedules came out – the return of Mats Zuccarello to Madison Square Garden.

No matter your age or preference when it comes to the type of player you are drawn to, Zuccarello truly had an impact on every single New York Rangers fan.

That’s what happens when you sweat blood and tears for the jersey and give it your all every single shift.

Zuccarello epitomized what it meant to play for this storied franchise, so it was no surprise that those inside MSG last night made sure to let everyone’s favorite Norwegian know what he truly meant to them.

Signs with messages were out in full force and Zuccarello got a standing ovation when he skated out at MSG for warmups, which was pretty cool to see.

And then there was the video tribute.

It was nicely done by the Rangers and Zuccarello took it all in before jumping over the boards and letting his appreciation known to the masses who so fondly used to chant his name.

Although he never won a Stanley Cup with this organization, Mats Zuccarello will go down as a true Rangers great and it was nice to be able to give him the tribute he truly deserved.
