Revenge is a dish best served cold as they say and the New York Rangers had Alexandar Georgiev to thank after getting their own back on the Vegas Golden Knights.

After being dismantled by the Knights at Madison Square Garden last Monday, it was roles reversed at T-Mobile Arena on Sunday as the New York Rangers got some pay back with a 5-0 blowout win.

However, it wasn’t as straightforward as the final figures on the scoreboard suggests, with the Golden Knights having outshot the Blueshirts 38-25.

Jacob Trouba scored on a four-minute power play in the middle frame after Vegas forward Ryan Reaves was penalized for a high stick, while Jesper Fast chipped in to heap more misery on the home crowd.

And the Rangers were not done there, either, as Mika Zibanejad converted a second power play goal of the game to ice the contest and get this road trip off to a successful start.

It was a big win for the New York Rangers who did what they had to do in order to grind it out, and we had some takeaways…
