4. Rangers answer the bell at even-strength

Prior to Wednesday’s showdown with Toronto, David Quinn tried everything in his power in order to try and spark his team’s even-strength scoring into life.

Because, before last night, the Rangers had scored just five even-strength goals over the span of a six-game stretch, while scoring nine on the power play.

That led to a 3-3 record and it was clear that Quinn was desperate to try and help his team find their groove at even-strength again.

Well, putting the lines in a blender worked to perfection as the Blueshirts scored all five of their goals at even-strength.

Granted, they failed to convert on two power play attempts but you can’t have everything in life at the end of the day.

As already mentioned, the line of Chris Kreider, Mika Zibanejad and Pavel Buchnevich was an explosive one, combing for seven points, while the offense as a whole just looked far more dangerous.

Next. Buckle up for a crazy few weeks. dark

The Rangers must be a consistent threat at even-strength if they are to somehow claw their way into the postseason, and this was a step in the right direction.
