About the Rangers

After months of treading water, the New York Rangers look to have finally found their groove and are hitting their stride at just the right time.

They are riding a season-high four-game winning streak and are 5-1-0 in their last six outings, meaning this is the most consistent spell of the year for this team.

The Blueshirts are also 7-2-0 in their last nine and their 26 wins in regulation this season rank sixth in the NHL.

There are a lot of driving forces behind why the Rangers have been so successful as of late, including their play at Madison Square Garden where they have won eight of their last 12 games on home ice (8-4-0), outscoring their opponents 48-32 in that span.

The Blueshirts have been getting hot goaltending too and Alexandar Georgiev has started the last two games, making a combined total of 59 saves.

Igor Shesterkin, who has sat out the last two games with an ankle injury, could return today or Head Coach David Quinn could decide to go with Henrik Lundqvist.

Not a bad selection of goalies to choose from.

Tony DeAngelo sat out the win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday with an upper-body injury, and it isn’t clear whether the defenseman will be good to go tonight.

Marc Staal did return from illness, however, which meant that Joey Keane got sent back down to the AHL without making his NHL debut.

It is a good job then that Ryan Lindgren and Adam Fox have meshed perfectly together, and the duo look to be every inch a solid defensive pairing for the foreseeable future for the Rangers.

Finally, the New York Rangers will have a chance of upsetting the Boston Bruins today as long as their big guns deliver.

That includes the dynamic line of Chris Kreider, Mika Zibanejad and Pavel Buchnevich, who have tallied 35 points (19 goals, 16 assists) over the last 10 games, which is just incredible.
