NYR: Mika Zibanejad’s five goal game leads Rangers to victory

In an entertaining game from beginning to end, the New York Rangers defeated the Washington Capitals 6-5 in overtime Thursday night at Madison Square Garden.

Mika Zibanejad took the game into his own hands scoring five goals, including the overtime winner to give the New York Rangers a crucial two points in their hunt for a playoff spot.

The victory snapped a three game losing streak and puts them at 76 points, one point ahead of Carolina and two points behind the Islanders for the second Wild Card spot.

The game was constantly back and forth between the two teams. Washington started the scoring in the first period, and it was a battle from there.
