New York Rangers vs. Islanders: Join the live conversation!

It’s time for a live chat during the New York Rangers return to hockey

We are all about to see the first live New York Rangers hockey game in four months. The Blueshirts will take on their archrival New York Islanders in a game that is virtually meaningless except for the fact that it is a key step back as they prepare for their Stanley Cup Qualifier that begins on Saturday.  The lineup that we will see will be the lineup that will take the ice for Game One.

The official lineup has been released and it will be Igor Shesterkin in net when the game starts with Henrik Lundqvist to take over midway through the game.

There are some streaks that the Rangers will try to keep going.

  • Mika Zibanejad has scored 11 goals in six straight games.  He also has a six game point scoring streak.
  • Adam Fox has a four game point scoring streak, scoring one goal and six assists.  It’s one game less than the five game point scoring streak he had in November.
  • Pavel Buchnevich has  points in seven straight games (two goals, seven assists).
  • Igor Shesterkin has won eight of his last nine starts.

Here’s how the two teams compare:
