Several New York Rangers prospects were in action Thursday in Europe

Hockey is in full swing in Russia and Sweden and the other European leagues are in their preseason.   Three New York Rangers prospects were in action and there was good news out of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).

Lias Andersson got into the scoresheet in HV71’s 5-4 loss to Örebro on the road on Thursday.  Andersson scored the third goal for HV71, to put HV71 ahead 3-2 seven minutes into the second period.  His team took a 4-3 lead into the third period, but two power play goals by Örebro sealed their fate.

Andersson (#23) was in position for a tip in off a point shot from defenseman Emil Andrae.

Andersson played 14:45 and finished with the one goal.  He was on ice for two Orebro goals so he finished with plus/minus of -1.  He had one hit and a team high three shots on goal.  He didn’t do too well in the faceoff circle, winning only one third of his draws.

Andersson took a third period penalty for delay of game and when  Christian Sandberg  took a hooking penalty, HV71 was down two men and Orebro tied the score.  This was Andersson’s second game of the young season and the loss dropped HV71 into last place with an 0-2 record.

Kravtsov scoreless again

Vitali Kravtsov was held scoreless for the second straight game as Traktor dropped a 3-1 decision to Salavat Yulaev.   Kravtsov had two shots on goal and played 19:41, the most of all forwards.

Traktor has had a very heavy schedule and have two days off before they take on Dynamo Minsk on Sunday.

Adam Huska in Slovakia

The Tipsport Slovkian League does not start their season until October 2, but goalie prospect Adam Huska led HKM Zvolen to a preseason win.

More Rangers prospects will be playing over the next few days and we will have an update when results become available.
