The New York Rangers finally have Alexis Lafrenière!

After an agonizing two month wait, we can finally say that Alexis Lafrenière is a member of the New York Rangers. The draft itself was pretty boring, if we are being totally honest, but it was worth the wait and we now know that in January we will finally get to watch the Rangers play again.

While the draft was generally devoid of entertainment, aside from Alex Trebek’s brief appearance, the Rangers provided a couple of the more interesting moments in the form of trades and interesting selections.

Overall, I think the Rangers came out of the draft with a pretty solid haul. There were a few picks that I loved, a couple that I thought were okay, and only two that left me scratching my head. I think the Rangers come out of this draft with upwards of six players who legitimately have a chance to play in the NHL and that is impressive.

In this piece I will review and score the Rangers’ selections on an A+ to F scale, and I will provide who I would have selected at each draft position to see how we compare.
