So, how good a team is this?   I don’t think anyone would trade the current Rangers squad for this team, but there are pieces out there that could definitely help the Blueshirts next season.   Which players would you want to see back in a Ranger jersey?

Ironically, the Rangers will be paying big buyout money to Shattenkirk and Lundqvist.  Curious about the payroll for this squad?  The total cap hit is $86.75 million and that doesn’t include salaries for Duclair and Grabner, the two free agents.

So, the team is at least $5 million over the salary cap and still needs to find money for some players.  They’re in cap hell and they are still not as good a team as the current Broadway Blueshirts.  That should put any inkling of regret over the ex-Rangers to bed (except Ryan Graves).
