Rangers winning streak at 3 games as they beat the Devils 6-3

Notes on the game
- The last time the Rangers scored 12 goals in two consecutive games was December 29-31, 2016 when they scored six goals back-to-back against Arizona and Colorado, both on the road.
- This is the first three game winning streak since they won five in a row in February 2020.
- The game flow was excellent with only three icings until midway through the third period.
- The Devils won the battle of the faceoffs, as the Rangers won 46.8%, but much better than the 35.7% they won on Thursday.
- The Rangers were 1-5 on the power play, scoring in their second straight game.
- The Devils had only one power play and they were stopped by a Rangers team that has allowed only three power play goals in their last 50 times shorthanded.
- Alexandar Georgiev got the primary assist on Adam Fox’s goal. It was the fifth assist of his career and the first time a Ranger goalie had a primary assist since Henrik Lundvist in 2014, a span of 511 games.
- Jack Johnson led the team with five hits. Brendan Smith paced the Rangers with four shots.
- Ryan Strome led all forwards, playing 20:02 minutes. Adam Fox led all skater with 22:57 minutes of ice time.
- Kaapo Kakko came back after missing six games due to COVID and played 17:56 and had one assist.
- Julien Gauthier played an excellent game and had two assists for his first multi-point game in the NHIL. He also missed much of the second period as he had to have precautionary x-rays taken. It’s unknown what the possible injury was but after the game, David Quinn said that he is fine.
- When it comes to injuries, Quinn said that Shesterkin and Trouba making the road trip. both players are listed as day-to-day.
- The next time the Rangers and Devils play it will be in mid-April when they play four straight games against each other.
- With the win, the Rangers are now four points out of the final playoff spot in the East. Sunday’s match against the Penguins will be a true four point game.
