Rangers vs. Flyers: Quite a ride but the wrong finish in OT
By Steve Paulus
My three Rangers stars of the game
- Artemi Panarin had a dynamic game. He scored his first goal in six weeks and assisted on two others. It was as if he never missed a game. After the game he said that he rested more during his hiatus and he mused that it might be the secret to his new success.
- Brendan Smith takes a lot of heat, but in this game he was a physical force who contributed offensively with his headman pass to Panarin to set up Colin Blackwell’s tying goal. He led the team with four hits and two blocked shots. He absolutely crush Claude Giroux with one legal hit.
- Ryan Lindgren has a pretty special game, especially considering he was without his usual partner and was playing with Libor Hajek. He had two shots on goal and two hits and was a +1 on the night.
The official three stars
- Jakub Voracek
- Artemi Panarin
- Joe Farabee
