A record breaking 9-0 Rangers win over the Flyers
By Steve Paulus
My three Rangers stars of the game
- Mika Zibanejad gets the top star for a performance for the ages. Hopefully this will jump start his season and he will play as he did last season. It was a good start.
- Pavel Buchnevich gets the second star as Zibanejad’s right hand, not just at even strength but also on the penalty kill. With two goals and two assists, he was almost as much of a force as Zibanejad.
- Tie – Alexandar Georgiev and Adam Fox – When a goalie gets a shutout, he should get a star and this was as easy a shutout as a goalie could ask for. Still, with his recent issues, for Georgiev to pitch a shutout was impressive. Adam Fox gets a piece of the third star for his excellent play, his plus three rating and his primary assist on the Rangers’ first goal. It is so crucial for the Rangers to score first and Fox made it possible.
