The New York Rangers take on the Pittsburgh Penguins for the eighth and last time this season.  They are coming off an 8-4 thrashing of the Penguins and are looking to keep their four game points streak going.

The Penguins have now allowed 15 goals in two games, their two worst defensive efforts of the season.  The Rangers cannot take them lightly.  The Penguins have not lost more than two games in a row this season and the 45 shots they fired at Igor Shesterkin was the most they have had in any one game this season.

David Quinn harped on the need for a better defensive effort in his post-practice comments. ” I also want them to understand that forcing offense against a team like this is a recipe for disaster.
When we got into trouble the other night it was because we forced offense. Our guys realize that, they know that.  We’re going to have to be more responsible with the puck so we don’t give up as many shots or scoring chances as we did.”    He also said that he wanted them to “have the same mindset from an offensive perspective.”
