My 3 Rangers stars of the game

  • Artemi Panarin missed practice for what was described as maintenance.  If he plays like this without any practice, he shouldn’t practice again this season.  He was the most dynamic player on the ice and is developing a real chemistry with Blackwell along with his comfort with Ryan Strome.  Spectacular.
  • Ryan Lindgren

scored that first goal in almost 100 games and for that along he deserves the star.  He has been shooting a lot in an attempt to get that goal, but his lack of goals hasn’t detracted from his outstanding work on defense.   He was second to K’Andre Miller with four hits, one fewer than Miller.

  • Igor Shesterkin  gets the third star because a goalie should always get a star when he gets a shutout, but it would be just as easy to honor Colin Blackwell or Jacob Trouba.  Shesterkin did have some tough saves and deserves the kudos.
  • The official 3 stars of the game

    1. Artemi Panarin
    2. Igor Shesterkin
    3. Colin Blackwell

    What’s next

Two more games this weekend with a back-to-back home and away to end the season series with the Devils.  It’s a big weekend and the Rangers have to win since Boston is showing no inclination to give up any ground.
