Although the craziness of the off-season has slowed down significantly, there is still plenty more to be excited about. The NHL regular season is just over a month away, and the New York Rangers play their first game on October 13th against the Washington Capitals. This will be Ranger fans first look at how the tougher roster handles Tom Wilson. That alone will make it a must-watch game for all hockey fans.

As we inch closer to the regular season, it is also hard to not get excited to see how their players will do this go-around. When looking at the team’s roster, it is clear that they have many young players who should only get better as time passes. Furthermore, there are some veterans who will be worth paying attention to. This is the case whether they are newcomers or simply due for either a bounce back or potential breakout season. The Rangers surely have a few interesting names who fit those descriptions.

In this piece, we will be naming five specific players who are worth keeping a close eye on. Not only will a few young players be discussed, but also some players with experience. In terms of each player’s roles and overall expectations, they do a vary a bit. Ultimately, though, they each will be entertaining to follow as the season progresses.
