Being founded in 1926, the New York Rangers have an immense amount of names on their all-time player list. Among the most notable include Brian Leetch, Rod Gilbert, Mark Messier, Henrik Lundqvist and Mike Richter. That is really just the tip of the iceberg, though.

At this point in time, they also have some current players who could end up being a big part of their history when they retire, too. Players like Artemi Panarin, Adam Fox, Mika Zibanejad, Chris Kreider and 2020 first overall pick Alexis Lafrenière are just a few potential examples.

However, with this team having such a deep history, there have also been a lot of players who fans around the league may not have realized played for the Rangers. The Blueshirts have had a lot of players who are far more known for their tenures with other teams or did not stick around long.

In this segment, we will be discussing a forgotten Ranger players from each letter of the alphabet by last name. Today, let’s start with the A’s.

Diehard Ranger fans should remember a few of these players, but they each are not remembered most for their time with the team.
