It New York Rangers hockey again and time to join in a live conversation as we watch the game. Join your fellow Ranger fans and talk about the game, the team, the coach or anything else that strikes your fancy.
Admittedly, the Yankees-Red Sox game is more important to the wild card race and after Sunday football and the Ryder Cup, you may have overdosed on sports this weekend, but diehard Ranger fans will be watching.
Projected lineups
Here is the projected lineeup for the Rangers
20 Chris Kreider– 93 Mika Zibanejad – 13 Alexis Lafrenière
21 Barclay Goodrow – 72 Filip Chytil – 74 Vitali Kravtsov
29 Dryden Hunt – 47 Morgan Barron – 15 Julien Gauthier
50 Will Cuylle – 73 Matt Rempe – 70 Karl Henriksson
55 Ryan Lindgren – 23 Adam Fox
12 Patrik Nemeth – 64 Nils Lundkvist
5 Jarred Tinordi – 22 Tony Bitetto
40 Alexandar Georgiev
32 Adam Huska
This may be our first and only opportunity to see players like Cuylle, Rempe and Henriksson on Madison Square Garden ice this season. It’s also the highly anticipated debut of top prospect Nils Lundkvist who is expected to contend for a top six job on the defense.
The fun part is at least seven of the Rangers in this game will be vying to impress Gerard Gallant enough to stay with the team when the season starts. They should be playing their hearts out.
The Islanders haven’t released their starting lineup yet, but some word has gotten out about who will be playing. So far, confirmed are Brock Nelson (29), Josh Bailey (12), Aatu Raty, Simon Holmstrom (37), Casey Cizikas (53), Cal Clutterbuck (15), Ryan Pulock (6) and Ilya Sorokin (30) will be in net.
One note about the Islanders. Defenseman Bode Wilde (2018 2nd Round) is the one Islander who has not been vaccinated and was not invited to training camp.
