It’s back to Madison Square Garden for the home opener for the New York Rangers.  After a disappointing loss to the Washington Capitals, the Rangers hope to give a full 60 minute effort against an inconsistent Stars team.

Both the Stars and Rangers missed the playoffs last season as they each finished with 60 points on the season.  For the Stars, it was a letdown, coming one year after they made it to the Stanley Cup Final, losing to the Tampa Bay Lightning in six games.

Projected starting lineups

We have a general idea who will be in the Rangers lineup and Gerard Gallant won’t provide all of the information before the game.  Sammy Blais is out with a lower body injury and Nils Lundkvist will indeed make his debut.

About the game and join the live conversation

Game time is 7pm and the telecast will be on MSG Network. The radiocast will be on ESPN Radio 98.7 FM.  Nationally, ESPN+ will be carrying the game as well. The MSG Network pregame show will begin at 6pm and they will carry the ceremony honoring the memory of “Mr Ranger,” Rod Gilbert.

Blue Line Station will be hosting its live in-game conversation using the comments feature below. We’ve had some issues with the comments refreshing and are working on that, so please bear with us. One workaround is to change how the comments sort from “newest” to “oldest” and back to “newest” again.

Bugs aside, it’s always fun to interact with other Rangers fans during the games you can be sure there will be a lot to talk about as we hope for a better result that we saw last night.  We’ll start the conversation early during the ceremony so we can share memories of Rod Gilbert.
