My 3 Rangers stars

Going against the grain, the whole

Rangers second line

gets the first star.  Filip Chytil scored the first goal on assists from Sammy Blais and Alexis Lafrenière and then it was Blais feeding Lafrenière for the game winner.  It would be unjust to recognize anyone one of the three individually.

Igor Shesterkin

wasn’t as busy in this game, but he was good when he need to be.  He stood tall in the first two periods and made a number of difficult saves as the Predators had 24 shots on goal in the first and second periods.

  • Jacob Trouba had one of his best games as Ranger.  He was physical, clearing he front of the net and he was able to get out of their zone when the Predators were swarming.  A tip of the hat to Adam Fox who was pretty outstanding as well.
  • The official 3 stars

    1. Alexis Lafrenière, Rangers
    2. Igor Shesterkin Rangers
    3. Philip Tomasino, Predators

    What’s next

The Rangers conclude their four game road trip on Saturday afternoon, returning to Canada to play the Ottawa Senators.  The Sens are one of the most improved teams in the NHL and look to pose a challenge for the Blueshirts.  Ottawa is 2-2 in four games this season. They’ve been as stingy on defense as the Rangers, allowing only nine goals while scoring eight times.

Game time Saturday is 1pm and it will be televised on the MSG Network.  Nationally, you can see the game on MSG+.   Radiocast will be on ESPN Radio 98.7FM.

More. More on the Kravtsov situation. light
