The New York Rangers had the day off Monday, but there was some news to report regarding the team. First and foremost, the Blueshirts’ game on Saturday with the Ottawa Senators has been postponed. Ottawa has 10 players in the COVID protocol and are having a hard time filling out their lineup.

There is no word about when the game will be rescheduled.  It means a busy schedule is much less hectic with the Rangers playing Montreal at home Tuesday, playing in Toronto on Thursday and now coming home to play Buffalo on Sunday.

Chytil  update

While there has been no official word, it looks like Filip Chytil is healthy and could be ready to play against Montreal.   He had been put on Injured Reserve dating back to the  collision he had with Sammy Blais in Calgary on Saturday, November 6.   Greg McKegg had been called up from Hartford before this weekend, but he was sent back down today.

That would be good news for the Blueshirts and it would mean they could return Barclay Goodrow to the Zibanejad line with Chytil centering for Alexis Lafrenière and Julien Gauthier.

No news on Sammy Blais

There has been no word on the injury to Sammy Blais.  According to Vince Mercogliano of USA Today, Blais had an MRI, but we won’t hear anything until tomorrow.

As for P.K. Subban, there has been no news from the NHL regarding the incident and we don’t know if they are even reviewing the play.  Remember, Subban has already been fined twice this season for tripping and he injured Ryan Reaves with an apparent slewfoot in the preseason.

Meanwhile, there appeared to be some gamesmanship going on at the Garden Sunday night.
