3 Rangers stars and what’s next

  • Kaapo Kakko was the best player on the ice in the first period and he scored the key first goal to give the Blueshirts the lead.   He is playing with renewed confidence and vigor and now he has a two-game goal scoring streak and three points in two games.
  • Jacob Trouba had another outstanding game on defense.  He didn’t dent the scoresheet, but he was esxcellent.  Gallant described Trouba’s contributions. “I  I think Trouba has been outstanding since the first game of the season.  He competes.  He battles. He’s a warrior for us.”
  • Igor Shesterkin

very quietly had another excellent game and made some unworldly saves to keep the Rangers ahead.

He had 31 saves and was particularly good in the second period when the Rangers were on their heels.

    The official 3 stars

    1. Kaapo Kakko – Rangers
    2. Igor Shesterkin – Rangers
    3. Christian Dvorak – Montreal
