Two New York Rangers have been chosen as All-Stars for the NHL All-Star Weekend in February.    Adam Fox and Chris Kreider are two of the 11 players named to the roster of the Metropolitan Division.   They will play in a round robin of three-on-three games, featuring teams for each of the four NHL divisions.

While the four division team captains were chosen by a fan vote, the remaining players were selected by the NHL’s Hockey Operations Department.  Alex Ovechkin is the captain of the Met Division team.

Zibanejad could still go

There will be a fan vote for one more player for each Division with one candidate from each team.  For the Rangers, Mika Zibanejad could join Kreider and Fox at the festivities.  The vote is called the 2022 NHL All-Star Last Men In and you can vote at NHL.com/lastmenin.

The Rangers have launched their own full court press to get a fan vote for Zibanejad.

The All-Star weekend will take place in Las Vegas on February 4-5.  The players will participate in the annual skills competition on Friday night, February 4 with the All-Star Game on Saturday afternoon on February 5.

With the 2021 All-Star Game cancelled, this will be the second straight appearance for Kreider.  He was a replacement for the injured Artemi Panain in 2020.  Adam Fox will be making his first All-Star appearance.
