My 3 Rangers stars

  1. Artemi Panarin gets the number on star for another dynamic game. He ended up with the empty net goal and two assists, but he led all forwards in ice time, had two shots on goal and was a threat whenever he was on the ice. His feed to Strome for his goal was outstanding and he was the best player on the power play that won the game.
  2. Chris Krieder had a dynamic game and potted the winning goal on the power play.  He had four shots on goal and was skating the whole game.
  3. Alexis Lafreniere had another solid game and scored the all-important first goal.  He is getting better and better with every game and is showing a real knack for getting to the front of the net, exactly why he scored his goal.

Honorable Mention:   Adam Fox gets an honorable mention for his three assists, but no star because he had some tough shifts on defense, especially when the Blues scored their three goals.

The official 3 stars

  1. Chris Kreider
  2. Artemi Panarin
  3. Adam Fox

What’s next

The New Jersey Devils invade the Garden on Friday in the last game before a four-game road trip.  Game time is 7pm and it is the second time the two teams will meet this season.  The Rangers beat the Devils in a shootout in mid-November.

The Rangers cannot take the Devils lightly.  Though mired near the bottom of the Metropolitan Division standings, they have exploded for seven goals against Montreal, St. Louis and Vancouver and six goals against Pittsburgh, all in the last three weeks. Of course, they have gone only 4-4 in the eight games that they have played in that span.
