Tough night for the Rangers as they lose 5-2 to the Wild

My 3 Rangers stars

  1. Jonny Brodzinski gets the first star for playing an energetic game and not not being on the ice for a goal against. He led the Rangers with four shots in 12:35 minutes of ice time.
  2. Mika Zibanejad singlehandedly got the Rangers back into the game with his shorthanded goal and it was a work of art.   He was able to strip Mats Zuccarello of the puck with taking  a penalty, then scored.
  3. We’ll give the third star to Jacob Trouba who played 22 minutes, blocking a team high three shots. On a night when the Rangers’ defense had issues, Trouba was noticeably effective.

What’s next

Game three on this tough road trip is in St. Louis on Thursday as the Blues look to get revenge for their loss last week in New York.  Game time is 8pm EST and we should see Igor Shesterkin back in net for the Blueshirts.

After they play the Blues, they wrap up this road trip in Dallas on Saturday.
