My 3 Rangers stars

  1. Artemi Panarin is heating up and that is a very good sign for the Rangers. He has two goals and 11 assists in his last seven games. He played a dynamic game, winning puck battles and driving the Rangers offense.
  2. K’Andre Miller is becoming an offensive force with two assists that could have been goals.  His defense is improving as he is using his body more. He has a goal and two  assists in his last two games.
  3. It may be odd to pick defenseman Jacob Trouba as a star of the game when the Rangers score seven goals, but Trouba was a force on the blueline for the Rangers. He played 20:28, had two hits, three blocked shots  and finished with a plus/minus of +3.   He has been solid.

The official 3 stars

  1. Artemi Panarin – Rangers
  2. Esa Lindell – Stars
  3. K’Andre Miller – Rangers

What’s next

The Rangers return to the Garden to take on the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night.  The Ducks are rapidly falling out of the playoff picture and may be sellers at the deadline.  The key game of the week is Thursday’s match up with the Islanders at MSG.

Then it’s back on the road for two tough games in Tampa and Carolina before playing the Devils in Newark.
