My 3 Rangers stars

Alexandar Georgiev

should get all three stars in this game for an incredible effort.  He was the reason the Rangers won, pure and simple.

  • We are going to go off policy and award the second star to the entire Rangers defense who withstood a barrage from Carolina, blocking 12 shots and desperately clearing the puck when they were under siege.  Every defenseman contributed with special kudos to Jacob Trouba for the shot that Chris Kreider deflected for the goal.
  • Staying with that theme, the Rangers forwards get the third star for doing what the defense did, blocking 11 shots, throwing 26 hits and ultimately, scoring two goals.  Kudos to Chris Kreider for the deflected goal, Vatrano for the empty netter and to Mika Zibanejad for another outstanding effort.
  • The official 3 stars

    1. Alexandar Georgiev – Rangers
    2. Chris Krieder – Rangers
    3. Jacob Trouba – Rangers

    What’s next

The Rangers get a well deserved day off before facing the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night.  That is followed by a big Friday night game against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Madison Square Garden.   Get ready for a lot of home games.  After Tuesday, the Blueshirts play only six more road games with 12 games at home.
