The New York Rangers didn’t have a lot of time to dwell on last night’s loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.  It’s time for quick trip to Philadelphia to take on the Flyers as the Blueshirt look to rebound from their disappointing showing.

If there is any team you would want to play when coming off a tough loss, it’s the Philadelphia Flyers who are in a tailspin with only one regulation win in their last nine games.  They are coming off a 9-2 spanking at the hands of the Washington Capitals.

Of course, these are our beloved Rangers and it was just 11 days ago that the Blueshirts had to score three third period goals to salvage a point, losing in a shootout.  Overconfidence is not a virtue for this team and they need to get down to business from puck drop.  An effort similar to what they showed against Ottawa is definitely in order.

NEW YORK RANGERS

Alexandar Georgiev will get the start and it appears that Filip Chytil is ready to come back. The question is who will sit if he plays.

20 Kreider – 93 Zibanejad – 77 Vatrano
23 Panarin – 16 Strome -18 Copp
13 Lafreniere – 21 Goodrow – 24 Kakko
29 Hunt – 17 Rooney – 75 Reaves

55 Lindgren – 23 Fox
79 Miller – 8 Trouba
61 Braun – 45 Schneider

40 Georgiev
31 Shesterkin

PHILADELPHIA FLYERS

86 Joel Farabee – 13 Kevin Hayes – 11 Travis Konecny
25 James van Riemsdyk – 48 Morgan Frost – 46 Bobby Brink
49 Noah Cates –  21 Scott Laughton –  23 Oskar Lindblom
38 Patrick Brown – 44 Nate Thompson –  58 Tanner Laczynski

9 Ivan Provorov – 45 Cam York
6 Travis Sanheim – 70 Rasmus Ristolainen
8 Kevin Connauton – 47 Ronnie Attard

35 Martin Jones
32 Felix Sandstrom

The Flyers lost Cam Atkinson and Carter Hart to injuries and nhl.com’s starting lineup doesn’t show Owen Tippett who should be playing. Martin Jones played very well against the Rangers in New York but played last night in relief of Hart, so we could see AHL call up Felix Sandstrom.
