My 3 Rangers stars

  • Chris Kreider gets the top star for scoring his 52nd goal and setting up the final Ranger goal with a sweet pass to Lafrenière.   Kreider was second on the team in ice time (23:08) and he led the team with six shots.
  • Alexis Lafrenière

is getting more and more confident and his third period goal showed off his skill. He doesn’t miss on shots like that unlike many of his teammates.  He also made a fantastic move to the net in the third period, but was stopped by the Canes’ netminder.

He was second on the team with four shots.

  • Adam Fox was the best Ranger blueliner with four shots on goal, an assist and three takeaways.
  • The official 3 stars

    1. Vincent Trocheck – Hurricanes
    2. Chris Kreider – Rangers
    3. Brady Skjei – Hurricanes

    What’s next

It’s the penultimate game for the Blueshirts as they host the Montreal Canadiens in the second game of a back-to-back.   Gametime is 7:30pm. It will be a return to the Garden for Martin St. Louis who is the interim coach for the Canadiens.

The final game of the season is Friday night against the Capitals.  Hopefully, the Rangers will have the common sense to rest their regulars so that they are healthy for the playoffs.  You can be sure that Panarin and Copp won’t be in the lineup and the word is that Kaapo Kakko will make his return.  The only regular with a target to achieve is Chris Kreider and it’s likely we will see him both remaining games. When asked about that after the game, he said that he’s a hockey player and when they tell him to play, he plays.
