The NY Rangers are finally ready to hopefully draft some future hockey stars into the organization as they head into Rounds 2-7 of the 2022 NHL Draft. On Day 1, the Rangers didn’t have any draft selections but hopefully, general manager Chris Drury will work some magic with the picks he has today.
At the time of this writing, the Rangers have six draft picks on Day 2 following a trade yesterday involving goaltender Alexandar Georgiev and the Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche. Thanks to this trade, the Rangers were able to add a third and fifth-round pick in this year’s draft and even a third-round pick in next year’s draft.
Of course, it remains to be seen if Drury will try to make even more trades to keep adding more talent to the Rangers’ roster. It’s no secret they surprised the hockey world last season with their NHL Playoff appearance and proved that their “no quit” attitude was a catalyst until their bitter exit. It’s expected that momentum will continue this upcoming season as the foundation is set, now it’s time to add fresh, new, and young talent to the mix.

I thought he could be an option at No. 63. Solid pick (at least as far as most rankings/experts are concerned).

The Rangers took Adam Sykora at No. 63. He was a late riser who surprised a lot of us by making Slovakia's World Championship team. He's got good wheels and despite not being big, gets to the hard areas of the ice and competes. I ranked him 47th.

They just made an announcement at the NHL draft about the Rogers cellphone outage. Teams are being instructed to use the hard lines at their draft tables.
