Lady Liberty is back. Thursday, the NHL released the second edition of their reverse retro jerseys. All 32 teams got a new jersey, and the Rangers have thrown it back again with their Lady Liberty jerseys 2.0.

The Liberty jersey was the Rangers’ first alternate jersey back during the 1996-1997 season, and now, New York combined this with their current look. The new jerseys are royal blue, with red on the sleeves, an attribution to how the jerseys first were in the late 90s.

Moreover, the current NHL logo is also altered on the reverse retro jerseys, as it is remixed in their old orange and black colors. It’s clear that the league wanted to make a statement with these jerseys. Doing so by going back to the iconic Liberty jerseys is certainly worth recognizing the history of the unique uniforms.

The Rangers will wear these jerseys eight times during the regular season, all at Madison Square Garden. It’s only fitting that Lady Liberty is seen in New York so the most iconic building in the sport will play host on every occasion that the Rangers dawn their new reverse retro jerseys.

With the release of the Lady Liberty reverse retro jerseys, there has been a lot of dividing option. Some fans don’t like the old-fashioned look, but some love the new amendments to one of the most recognizable features of the New York Rangers jersey history. With the Reverse Retro promotion

These jerseys are meant to be a combination of the old 1990’s classic look and the 21st-century iteration of the Rangers. With how a lot of the other reverse retro jerseys came out and what they look like, this is one of the better designs according to most fans. We’ll get to see these jerseys at Madison Square Garden soon enough.
