The New York Rangers start to the season has not been as smooth as fans would have liked, but they seem to have corrected the floundering situation the organization was in a week ago. This doesn’t mean that everyone has gotten off to an equally hot start. As of right now, the Rangers haven’t had their production equally divided between the members of the roster.
There are several members of the Rangers that have exploded out of the gates. While this is definitely not the fault of the members that haven’t gotten off to the hottest start, it is worth mentioning that those who are off to a hot start have been the biggest contributors to the organization. Those players have had a much more important hand in the Rangers’ start to the season than some of the guys that started ice cold.
What can be defined as a hot start is someone starting by surpassing expectations. There are a few players that this could be applied. Just as expectations fluctuate depending on the player, what can be considered a hot start can fluctuate from player to player. Some players are more talented than others and will be expected to produce a lot more than players that are expected to be strong defensively and players that are fourth-liners.
New York’s play in the last week has gotten so much better so a lot of the players that started slowly have started to heat up. Players that started the season well may now be overlooked, but there have been a few players that have stood above the rest of the roster in terms of their contribution as the calendar runs into November. It’s been a good start to the season for the Rangers, but these three have had better starts than the rest.
