Rangers prepare to take on the Penguins for the 3rd time this week
Are you sick of seeing the Rangers play the Penguins yet? We’re here for the third time this week to talk about these two Metropolitan Division foes going toe to toe again at Madison Square Garden. We will get to see some of the brightest talents in the NHL go at it on this National Broadcast between two teams that will be hoping to meet in the postseason.
Ryan Lindgren was a full participant in the Rangers’ morning skate but the Rangers coaching staff continues to take a cautious approach regarding the defenseman’s return to the Blueshirts lineup. With Niko Mikkola doing a steady job on the top pair in his absence and Ben Harpur proving that he can plug the leak temporarily, we all know how much Lindgren means to this roster and how important he is to this team.
Igor Shesterkin was the first netminder off today as the Russian looks to be getting the nod tonight. Despite enduring a period of struggles immediately after the all-star break, the reigning Vezina winner has still stolen countless games for the Blueshirts this season and he will be required to be the goalie he has proven to be time and again if the Rangers are going to get anything from this game tonight.

Puck drop time and where to watch
This is an 8 PM Eastern puck drop. Why? Only god knows. For the most storied venue in the hockey world to be holding a game between two Eastern Conference clubs is beyond me. It’s no secret that these games draw attention because of the talents on display but ABC had opted to make this game a little later because of reasons that I do not truly understand. Anyway, it’s an 8 PM national broadcast.
