Rangers prepare to start a home-and-home with the Hurricanes
When you think of the elite teams in the NHL in more recent years, you tend to think of Tampa Bay and Colorado. Depending on who you ask, a team that may come third on that survey is the Carolina Hurricanes, who will be the Rangers’ opponent for the next two games. New York won both games against the Metropolitan division leaders earlier in the season, so this will be a game where the Canes look for revenge.
Ryan Lindgren will be in tonight for the New York Rangers it seems. He took to the ice in the morning skate next to his typical partner, Adam Fox. This will be the first time in 12 games that we will see the former Bruins draft pick in the Ranger lineup. Niko Mikkola did a great job filling in for the Minnesota native on the top pairing, but with how essential Lindgren is to this lineup, this is a big addition in a game the Rangers will want to win.
With a win tonight and a little help from the Minnesota Wild in their game against the New Jersey Devils later today, the Rangers could pull within three points of the Devils and four of the Hurricanes. It would put the Blueshirts in the chase for the Metropolitan title as they try to grab home ice in the first round if they are not able to help themselves to the Division title that does not seem to be far from their reach.

Puck drop time and where to watch
This is a game that will start at 7 PM Eastern. Bally Sports South will have the Canes feed for those in the Raleigh area that want to watch the Rangers game. MSG will have it for those still in the City That Never Sleeps. It’s a very important game for both teams and we’re going to get to see two teams fighting for survival go toe to toe.
