Discover how Tyler Pitlick’s relentless work ethic and physical style of play are poised to make a significant impact on the New York Rangers lineup this season

Tyler Pitlick is back in action; this 2023-24  season, and he’s ready to make a big impact for the New York Rangers. Pitlick’s journey has taken him from a professional tryout with the St Louis Blues last year to signing a one-year, $787,000 contract with the Rangers over the Summer.

Yet Pitlick hasn’t changed his approach. He’s still the hardworking forward eager to prove himself every time he hits the ice. “I think I got back to myself in St. Louis,” Pitlick shared, reflecting on his return to form. “I had a bit of a down year the year before, but I got back to playing my game and consistently bringing something for the team every night. Just playing hard on the forecheck.”

Tyler Pitlick’s Aggressive Style and Versatility Energize the Rangers:

Pitlick’s role with the Rangers is clear. He’s set to skate on the fourth line. However, he’s got bigger plans. Pitlick aims to earn more penalty-kill time, adding another dimension to his game.

Last season, the 31-year-old played 61 games, notching 16 points, and his confidence is riding high. Head coach Peter Laviolette is impressed, highlighting Pitlick’s work ethic and physical play. “I’ve been really impressed with Tyler’s game,” Laviolette praised. “He skates well, he’s big, he’s strong, can play physical.”

Pitlick’s physical presence is precisely what the Rangers need in their bottom six. He loves to get in on the forecheck, cause turnovers, and make life difficult for opponents.

As for his line partners, Jimmy Vesey, Nick Bonino, and Barclay Goodrow, Pitlick will adapt to bring the best out of the unit. “I just think it’s going to be a good line that can score goals,” he said. “But also, it will be a pain to play against. We’re going to make it really difficult on teams and play really strong defensively. I think it’s going to be a really solid line. I’m really excited.”

So, get ready to see Tyler Pitlick in action, making life tough for opponents and adding that extra spark to the Rangers’ lineup. With his determination and physicality, he’s poised to make a real impact this season.
