After a 5-0 Western Conference road trip, the New York Rangers prepare to take on the Carolina Hurricanes at Madison Square Garden. Two of the best teams the NHL offers will go toe to toe tonight. It should be a delightful game between two elite teams, and the Rangers will be looking to get one over on the two-time reigning Metropolitan Division winners.

Against a team known for its exceptional defensive structure and prowess, the Rangers will face their most formidable opponent of the season. A team that fires shots on goal at will, the Blueshirts will be under pressure most of the game despite being the home team. This Hurricanes team is among the cup favorites, and the Rangers must be exceptional to beat them.

Former Rangers Brady Skjei, Antti Raanta, Jesper Fast, and Tony DeAngelo will return to the Garden.  Players like Fast and Raanta are more fondly remembered than DeAngelo, but they will all try to help their team defeat their former squad. On the other side of this coin, Vincent Trocheck will be playing against his old squad. If you recognize Jack Drury on the ice for the Canes, he is the nephew of Rangers general manager Chris Drury.

Puck Drop time

This is a 7 p.m. Eastern puck drop time from Madison Square Garden. In the past, this building has been kind to the Blueshirts when they are playing against the Hurricanes. If they can find a way to make it six straight wins by extending the run of horror the Canes have had in this building, the Rangers could start to pull away from the chasing pack in the Metropolitan Divison.
