Rangers’ Thanksgiving Delight: Trocheck’s Home-Cooked Tradition!
Join the New York Rangers in a Thanksgiving tradition like no other as Vincent Trocheck’s home-cooked feast becomes a symbol of team unity.
Vincent Trocheck, in less than two seasons with the Rangers, has started a team tradition. The Trocheck family hosted a massive Thanksgiving dinner on Tuesday at their Pittsburgh home for the Blueshirts for the second straight season. He previously did it in March of last season.
The family didn’t mess around with the menu – chicken parmesan, rigatoni, arancini, meatballs, linguine with shrimp and scallops, chicken cutlets – and more!
A Feast of Unity: Trocheck’s Annual Gathering Brings Rangers Closer:
“It’s good to have everybody together and have a big home-cooked meal,” Trocheck told the New York Post. “Especially when you’re on the road for a little bit, it’s nice to have a home-cooked meal, and it just brings everybody together.”
His sister Nonna and the rest of the family ensured everyone felt at home. Chris Kreider appreciated the gesture, saying, “It means a lot to the group. Obviously, it reflects incredibly well on him and his upbringing.”
However, Trocheck’s generosity doesn’t stop there. He’s not just a team player on the ice; he’s the welcoming type off the ice. Just ask rookie Will Cuylle, whom Trocheck invited to live with him this season. Cuylle even joins in on mini sticks with Trocheck’s kids, becoming like a third child to him.
And let’s not forget Trocheck’s on-ice game. He has ten goals and 15 points in 16 games and carries a six-game point streak into Wednesday’s game. He also leads the team with a 52.8% success rate on faceoffs. Year 2 of his has transformed him into a more comfortable player, feeling like New York is truly home. Yes, his 7X$5.25 million AAV contract may be too long. Yet the 30-year-old has been a breath of fresh air, becoming a fan favorite less than two years into his tenure.
Head coach Peter Laviolette said, “It says a lot about him as a person and a teammate. Just a quality person looking out for his team and his teammates.” Trocheck, both on and off the ice, is making his mark in Rangers history. The hope is that the meal energized the boys ahead of Wednesday night’s tilt with the division rival Penguins.
