New York Rangers Host the Detroit Red Wings as Adam Fox Returns
Looking to rebound from a disappointing defeat last time out at the hands of the Buffalo Sabres, the New York Rangers will be looking to return to winning ways in their game tonight against the Detroit Red Wings. Reinforcements across the roster are replacing injuries sustained last game, and the Rangers will be desperate to extend their lead at the top of the Metropolitan Division with the two points tonight.
Kaapo Kakko was injured in the Buffalo game and was placed on LTIR. He will not be in the lineup for a month. Instead, the Ranges have recalled Jonny Brodzinski from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League. He is currently the leading scorer in the AHL and will be trying to make an impact at the NHL level while he is on the roster. He knows he is not going to be here for long, so making the most of it is vital.
On the back end, we welcome Adam Fox back to this lineup. He’s missed the last 10 with a lower-body injury sustained from a collision with Carolina Hurricanes’ forward Sebastian Aho. He will be joining Ryan Lindgren again as the pairing is reunited. New York has definitely missed its best defenseman over the last ten games, but the team has played well enough to keep progressing in his absence.

Puck Drop
This is a 7:30 PM Eastern puck drop from the Garden as the Blueshirts will be trying to build upon their lead at the top of the Metropolitan division. It’s been a relatively poor week in the season by the lofty standards of the Rangers because they lost their last game. That shows you how good this team has been. Winning tonight to remove that bitter feeling will be a good remedy for the pain of defeat.
