Winning in Nashville despite not playing particularly well was a good sign for this team and this organization, but the focus now shifts to getting home and preparing for the San Jose Sharks tonight. This is a potential banana skin opponent despite being at the bottom of the NHL standings. Tripping up teams like Edmonton, New Jersey, Vancouver, and even Philadelphia and Washington, this team can be a problem to defeat.

For the Rangers, it should be Jonathan Quick tonight, as Igor Shetserkin went last night. Quick has found the fountain of youth outside the doors of Madison Square Garden. His 6-0 record on the season will be tested again. While this is not the most daunting opponent he will face, this is a team he will need to take as seriously as any other he has won this season. New York will need to play well in front of him, too.

Former New York Ranger Anthony Duclair will try to haunt his former team again. Nick Bonino and Barclay Goodrow will try to defeat their former organization, too but they will be in the Rangers side of this equation. New York will need the two points if they are going to get back to the top of the standings against a team that is among the bottom of the league.

Puck Drop Time

This is a 6 p.m. Eastern puck drop from Madison Square Garden. New York will look to continue to build on the recent success in Nashville and at home. Two more points are available, and the Rangers can look to build upon their great start to the season. Extending the lead at the top of the Metropolitan will be among the priorities of the Blueshirts tomorrow against the bottom team in the NHL.
