The countdown to the playoffs is on. Every game counts.
The Rangers start their road trip playing the Los Angeles Kings. The Rangers are coming off a previous win, so momentum should still be riding. The Kings are also coming off a win, so both teams should feel spurred on ahead of the Tuesday night matchup. Based on stats, the Rangers have a record of 34-31-6, and the Kings’ numbers are 39-21-9.
The Blueshirts have shown they can compete at a winner’s level. These two teams faced each other last December, and the Kings stole the win. Therefore the time for the Rangers to seek redemption is now.
At the Crypto.com Arena, the Rangers step onto the ice with three key players to watch. They have a good away win record with five wins in the last eight games. The Rangers are in second place in the league for points percentage while on the road.
Three Players to Watch
1. Artemi Panarin

Panarin, the Ranger’s favorite “Breadman,” has come to serve when it comes to getting goals. He has 12 points in the last ten games and is third in the NHL league with the most points. The puck gravitates toward Panarin, as he is the leading scorer on the team. Panarin has proved his worth on the team, showing his grit to make goals. He carried the team to an impressive 31 goals this season.
2. Jonny Brodzinski

A local of the Kings previously has shown his team his skills, with nine goals this season and even two in the last game they played. Brodzinski has been very familiar with playing at this arena since he was a King in 2013. Will Brodzinski have extra motivation to show his skills tonight against his previous team? There must be some nostalgia for him and a will to win stepping on the ice. Another two goals in this game would be superb.
3. Will Cuylle

Cuylle is one the youngest on the team. He has proved that age doesn’t matter because Cuylle holds a tie for the third spot in the NHL with the most hits for the season. With 264 hits, that’s exceptionally monumental for a 23-year-old guy. The Rangers seek Cuylle’s hit to keep the Kings on their toes.
The Rangers desperately need this win. If they show up and perform adequately, they should be able to win. They also should push even more than usual with all the talk about their announcer, Sam Rosen.
Rosen has been with the Rangers for 40 years and is aiming to retire after this season. That impact should awaken their passion to win so that Rosen can have happy announcements for his last games. Win for Rosen; he has always been there with the team, and now it’s time for the team to be there for him.
