The New York Rangers traveled to the Windy City of Chicago to face the Blackhawks in another battle of uniform supremacy. The end result was a 3-0 beatdown by Chicago.

The Centennial sweaters were out to play, and the Blueshirts' performance was what you would expect from them. Truly terrible.

Let's take a look at what went wrong in this game with three big takeaways.

Lock those jerseys away in a vault somewhere

It is evident that the Rangers Centennial celebration is going about as smoothly as last season's farewell to Sam Rosen. If there was one thing that this historic franchise that we all know and love does best, is to ruin a good thing.

This 3-0 disappointment was the fifth straight loss in these uniforms. Without scoring a goal, that now makes the goal differential an abysmal 2-16 in favor of the opposition.

If the Rangers were smart, they would refuse to put those pretty uniforms for the rest of the season. Clearly there is some kind of curse going on here.

Shutout is a concern considering it was the Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks were coming off of two straight losses against the Los Angeles Kings and the Anaheim Ducks, and they were outscored 13-1. This should have been a good sign for this game, but instead, the Blackhawks offense decided to come alive against the Rangers.

The Rangers have been able to put up some goals lately, with 18 goals scored over their last six games, for a 3-1-2 record. Not being able to take advantage of a beatdown and dismantled Blackhawks defensive unit and goaltender is a missed opportunity.

Three-game losing streak

The Rangers have now lost three-straight games, giving them a record of 15-13-4, for 34 points. They now slip back in the tight-race for the Metropolitan Division, but are still within five points of the division leader, Washington.

Due to the Olympics coming up in just a few months, the Rangers schedule is going to get fast and furious. They have two sets of back-to-backs next week, leading up to Christmas. This is going to get very interesting, as the hope has to be on this team not having a setback with this loss.
